Founded by Emily Berthollet, BERTHOLLET NYC was built on a passion for craftsmanship, technical excellence, and supporting designers at every stage of their journey.

Emily’s love for fashion began at an early age, learning to sew from her grandmother. At 14, she created her first real pattern, sparking a fascination with garment construction that would shape her future. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising and studied abroad in Paris, where she immersed herself in the artistry and precision of French fashion.

Determined to build a career in the industry, Emily moved to New York City just days after graduating—without a job, but with a dream. Over the past six years in NYC, she has honed her skills in patternmaking, sample development, and technical design, working with a range of brands to bring their ideas to life. While she loves designing, her true passion lies in patternmaking—the intersection of creativity, math, and problem-solving. She thrives on the technical challenges of fit, construction, and precision, ensuring that every design is not just beautiful but also functional and production-ready.

Today, BERTHOLLET NYC collaborates with brands of all sizes—from emerging designers launching their first collection to established labels refining their fit and expanding their offerings.
